but for most neophytes.. i would suggest waiting until dormancy in fall ... to increase the odds of success ... to make it more foolproof ...

its all about PROPER AFTERCARE.. which i think you are good at.. but aftercare in fall is so much easier ...

chet.. its a shrub.. do whatever you feel comfortable with ... it is not exotic in any sense of the word ..

i guess what it really comes down to.. is it going to drive you insane.. all summer long.. if you leave it there.. if so.. just move it.. and who cares what happens to it.. you will be happy it is gone from that spot ...

slightly more robust root system than rhoddies so a larger ball. but easily done just the same. assuming no soil issues re: ability of a ball to hold together i may even hand dig it as opposed to machine, its small enough and easy enough.
