| -beegood, is the variegated one 'Dappled Dawn' aka 'Aucubaefolia'? Funny, but I came over here just to see if I could find any info on variegated lilacs! I may be interested in it for a back spot in my garden. Do you mind if I ask a few questions about it? I've looked around online but can only find a few answers... Does the variegation hold on all the growing season, or does it 'green out' later on? Would part sun be good, or does it need to be full sun to bring out the bold streaks? Does it sucker much and are the suckers variegated too? |

| This one is Dappled Dawn. The leaves stay like this all summer till frost.I have mine in full sun and it seems quite happy there. Nice fragrance to the flowers as well.It didn't sucker for the first few years but I noticed several this spring but they are variegated as well.It could handle some shade but like most lilacs is happier in the sun |
