No Lilacs in our area this year.

I noticed that our Lilac bush is growing great, just one problem, no blossoms. The rest of the neighborhood (upstate Central NY) is the same way. I did notice some dried up brown, what used to be blossoms. I'm assuming that our hot March, then our freezing April did a number on them. Any one else notice this? Thanks. Ed.

same here .. they all bolted in the 80's in march.. whats that all about in MI ....

and then repeated hard FREEZES.. zapped them ...

Yup, mine were unscathed in the most protected locations, to completely ruined in the open spots. My 'Miss Kim', which is next to a Cornus kousa, was completely ruined, as was most of the kousa. Would have been a gorgeous display had we not gotten down to 26 in late April.

I have a 'Donald Wyman' right up next to the house, and fortunately it was protected by the microclimate, and is now in full bloom with its delicious fragrance. I think that 'Miss Kim' may rebloom a bit later, it has a tendency to do that, and having lost the original blooms may do so more. I also just bought and planted a "Bloomerang" to see how it performs.

Yup, here in Ontario as well. In all my 48 years I've
never seen that before. Kind of weird - the lilacs not my
age

Actually, this was the first year I have had lilacs. We had the same warm Feb. and March, but did not experience the subsequent frosts--which sounds like the reason they failed for many.
