Identify this shrub

Hello. Is anyone able to identify this shrub for me? We moved here in August. It wasn't blooming then, it isn't blooming now. A local gardencenter pegged it as forsythia. If so,I'll have to remove it. Such a strange spot to plant one at the back of the woodland border (albeit in a sunny spot) thanks so much!

It is forsythia i believe. You did not mention your location. (you can add that next to your screen name)
It was not a good bloom year in the NEast this spring. It does like full sun but mine does fine in a woodland border edge.
It does not mind cutting/pruning way down if you move it.
Another of mine is in full sun and about 25ft across and also did not give a great bloom.
A coop Extension site visit said i could mow it all to the ground for a better re-growth.
(at 15ft tall and huge, i just leave it be)
