I have a 10' Crape Myrtle tree. It has three main branches for the trunk. As of today (May 23), there is still no sign of life. No leaves, no buds, nothing.y other CMs have leaves by now. When I nicked a fat branch I saw as little green inside. But the allergy outer branches snap easily. At first glance I'd say it's dead. However... There are lots of green shoots growing from the ground at the base.

Do I assume it's alive but all the old branches are dead? Please advise.
