I bought a miss kim lilac three years ago which was in full bloom then but hasn't bloomed since. Why could this be?

No Ken, hasn't been pruned, fertilized, nothing. Plopped into the ground when I bought it and forgot it. Gets maybe a half day of sun. Suprised to see you over here and not on the hosta forum.

Probably not enough sun. I tried before with partial sun and I was lucky to get a single bloom. They need full sun to be very full.

i agree.. or the indian burial ground thingee.. lol ..

lilac needs a lot of power to put that show out each spring.. and yours is handicapped by 50% with lack of sun .... and if half of that is dusk or dawn.. low level light.... then its might even be more than 50% ...

Don't you need to trim lillac after it is finished blooming? (Remove the spent blooms?) I have wonderful blooms on one of mine mine (also Miss Kim, and also in northern IL). THAT one gets watered along with the lawn. I have others that do not do as well -- they are at the edge of the yard and don't get as much water. (I'm to blame. I forget.) They all get good sun.
