######## Viburnum Carlesii ... Leave Size Not Growing ####

I have two Viburnum Carlesii ... Common Name: Koreanspice Viburnum in my front yard and both get full sun for most part of the day. Both were planted 2 years back, one is doing fine but the leaves on the other one are not growing, very small in size. When I bought them 2 years back, both had good size leaves. Few of the leaves on one side of this problemetic viburnum have turned brown now. Not sure if it was due to high temperature. The main root bark facing the sun has some cracks in it at the bottom. Any suggestions for its care or I should remove it. I do water them in summer; atleast once a week if there is no rain. Thanks.

Ken, Thank you for your response. Next time I will make sure to put the title which does not bother anyone. I will take the pictures over the weekend and load to this post. Thanks Again.

the worst question to answer is why this plant does this and this other one does not.

just because my older sister walked at nine monrhs doesn't mean my younger sister has a problem because she walked at elleven.

living things don't always respond to the same stimuli in the same way.

it can be figured out...but not without more info. such as exposure, soil analysis, including drainage as well as fertility, history of prevailing wind and features surrounding site that may cause wind tunnels or wind breaks, recent weather...such as lots of rain, flooding, late spring frosts and bud break data. i'm sure i forgot something.

in most cases, these things can be figured out. but you may have to spent some money.

my guess is...you want an amazing kreskin type answer.

Perhaps it was girdled more so than the other and has never adjusted like the other.
