Hi All:
I have a 5 yr old snowmound spirea that to this day has not bloomed. I purchased 5 different spireas at the same time and all but this one are doing well, all planted on the south side of my house. I pruned it at the end of the year first year and the second year no blooms so I havent pruned it since and still no blooms. Is it time for the compost pile or am I missing something as to how to take care of this specific one.
Thanks

Is it exposed such that it is getting frostbit? Ours here has bloomed for the first time in 4 years. But you can see the frostbit dead flower buds every year.

I have a snowmound and its always bloomed. How much sun does it get? Maybe try pruning it one more time.

They are pretty reliable bloomers...prune all the dead wood out and prune about a third of it to the ground.

If you want to be more drastic cut it all the way back. I betcha it blooms next year...the pruning encourages the bloom.
