Did I just kill the so-called un-killable yews

This is a follow-up of my post last year. Please see http://forums2.gardenweb.com/forums/load/shrubs/msg061057411431.html

After my patiently waiting almost a year, I have all the yews pruned to stumps in the first week of March. I made a point by pruning them hard, down to 6-8" above ground. Two months later, I don't see a single sign of re-growth. I looked and looked, almost every day on each of my 11 stumps. Nothing! Obviously there is no contingency plan. Looking back, I should have test my butchering on one or two instead of the whole front wall. I should have cut back less severely to see what happens first. I should have... Well, too late!

Just to report in case anybody is curious. I still have a thread of hope at this moment and if you have a miracle story about a reborn yew, please tell. Thanks.
