| Hi! Sorry if the answer to this is here somewhere - I've been looking for an hour with no luck.
I just purchased these two ROS varieties from a nursery - they assured me that they were sterile but I happened to see a post on another site where someone was offering seeds from these. Does anyone own a blue satin or satin violet who could tell me for sure? I want to return them if they aren't sterile - I don't have time for the extra weeding and I learned my lesson when I planted Mallow! Thanks so much for your help! |

| I had blue satin, NO, it is not sterile. You will have little ones but the plant is gorgeous! But, if you don't want babies, buy the white Diana. Sorry. |

| I don't know what zone you are in but in zone 5, my Blue Satin has no seedling problem. |

| Sodaisycrazy, I had Blue satin Rose of Sharon when I live in Pennsylvania, I don't grow Rose of Sharon down here in the Southeast heat. I had a small yard when I lived up north, so when the seedlings started growing everywhere and I had to weed them out, I wasn't too happy and then I understood what other people would complain about. Try them, they are truly beautiful shrubs. |
