3 boxwoods in front yard. the lower stems are completely leafless. the upper part has black spots on some of the leaves. i have cut them back completely and will burn the pile. do you think they will regrow? should i let them? digging out roots is NOT an option, so i might be able to plantsomething else in front. they were about 5 ft high and now looks bare.

Particular if encouraged with mulching etc. re-growth from stumps is likely. You may find their new appearance acceptable.
