 o
Weigela 'Wine & Roses' Fall Color?

Does the Weigela 'Wine & Roses' have any Fall interest? Do it's leaves turn red like the Ninebark 'Summer Wine' or does it have attractive bark or any other characteristic that would give it any Fall interest?

I had 'Fine Wine' which is apparently an improvement over 'Wine & Roses'. No fall interest for me...or winter for that matter. Weigela is one of the most overrated genus in my opinion. The sole plant I have is 'Shining Sensation' and its begging for a shovel prune.

Well, I didn't think there was any Fall or Winter interest, but I still like the dark leafed weigelas. I guess I would prefer to have Spring and Summer interest and no Fall interest instead of fall interest with very little Spring or Summer interest like what you get with a dwarf burning bush.

Spring and Fall interest for me. I usually go on vacation in the summer, at least I did when the kids were growing up.
A friend gave me a variegated Weigela with blooms just now opening up. She did not know the name. We will see what Fall brings. Then I'll decide where to plant it.
