I planted several last fall and then it rained and rained and rained some more. Leaves dropped early and I thought the bushes might have died.

They all have lots of elongated green buds on them this spring so I guess they are alive but I am still a little concerned because they don't seem to want to open. I can see a little purple on the tops of some of the buds.

When do miss kims usually leaf out? Maybe leafing out is late because all the rain caused damage last fall. The regular old lilac trees have been leafed out for a week or so around here.
