Pruning roundish Pittosporum

Hi Folks:
I have a Pittosporum Kohuhu. I love it. It grew from 2 feet to over 5 feet in just a year. It's at least 3 feet wide and around. Some of the lower branches, those closest to the ground up to 1/3 way up the trunk appear kind of saggy (esp. after a light rain), and I was wondering if I need to prune them. Or will pruning them ruin the shape. Right now it's very roundish, and I thought pruning would make it more tall, which would be okay with me. But sometimes if you prune something that's not supposed to be pruned, you spend the next few years living with your mistake.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
THANKS!

If in doubt, don't.
