BitterSweet? Don't look like it?

I have to admit that I am a very MIXED-up person. I cannot trust anything i do. Indeed, I remember that I ordered Bittersweet plants, WITHOUT even paying attention to its being a vine. I like the plant I ordered. The other day, I was checking how big and tall a bittersweet could get, so I went back to the nursery website to check the facts. I found that actually it was a vine.

The odd thing is that the plant I have does not look like a vine to me at all. It does not look like the picture on the nursery either. What is this?

Thanks

Looks like one of the non-native Euonymus.

Maybe. If there are black dots in the bottom of the teeth on the edge of the leaves, euonymus (magnification needed). From a distance doesn't feel 100% like it tho...

I do see some resemblance of mine with some in the pictures online as Bittersweet. However, they all turn to be vine, but mine has no signs of vine. Could it be the age of my plant; it is not time yet to vine?

I am just not ready to build any fence or lattice for the plant to climb; it wouldn't look good with a structure like that. The house view would be totally blocked. I just hope that my plant won't vine.

Your plant has opposite leaves, bittersweet has alternate leaves. This is not bittersweet, Celastrus scandens.

Here is a link that might be useful: Celastrus scandens
