My japanese kerria isn't growing...

Hello

I got several tiny Japanese kerria seedlings from a friend last year (very, very tiny, but they had roots on them). They aren't dead, they are alive (I can tell because the stems are bright green). Anyways, it's well into spring here in our zone, but I haven't really noticed much new growth on them. I haven't fertilized them or anything yet, but I do have some compost tea that I'm thinking about giving them (not sure how much though). Does anyone know why they might not be growing??

Far too little information to do anything but WAG. In pots, in ground, in sun, soil moist, how's the weather been, and so on.

Perennialfan,
I read up on these shrubs, very beautiful shrub.
It does like partial shade to full shade though, so I can't get one. Darn it.
People were stating they grow like weeds and they are very easy to propagate.
Patience and soon it will be full of leaves for you I am sure.
The most interesting point of this shrub is the barks stay green all winter. Even without the leaves, I bet that is a nice sight.
Good Luck with it.

seedlings or suckers ...

mine are in bloom... it seems you are mostly a bit ahead of me, from other posts ...

if yours are not showing any signs of life.. give up ..

just go back to the friend .. and get a few more.. larger pieces ....

its not like kerria doesnt multiply like a rabbit.. a great chance for a garden visit ... take her some cookies.. and beg politely .. lol ..
