i would start digging about 6 inches in from the lawn..

in the alternative.. hook a chain to it.. and yank it out with the riding lawnmower .. or the car/truck ...

whats the point of the ID if you dont want it??? you got something against a medusa in the middle of the yard????

if you have a grinder.. sharpen the shovel first.. makes digging easier ...

Well this guy was pretty easy to get rid of and snowball viburnum has happily taken his place. Hopefully it doesn't try to come back.

Now to find somewhere to put my quick fire hydrangea...

Oh yeah I know all about the whole watering thing, it has become my second job this summer. We literally are getting no rain here in Chicago. I've done lots of planting this summer and everyone is happy...as long as I remember to water. The grass doesn't get the same special treatment.
