They can't sit in water - the roots will rot. Dig it up asap and let it dry out for a day. Plant it somewhere else, as the flooded soil will have bacteria and mildew and mold, and needs to dry out completely for a few weeks before replanting.

Just dig a temporary hole somewhere that doesn't hold water, put your shrubs it the hole, and when your preferred location is completely dried out, you can try re-planting.

Do not put any soil back in the hole that was flooded - it needs to be solarized to kill the fungus, mold etal.

I transplanted it this morning and I'll keep my fingers crossed.

they are near impossible to kill..

neighbor dug up an 8 footer.. with a one foot rootball.. last august.. during the worst heat and drought wave i have ever lived thru in MI ... and it lived ...

i have to admit.. its not pretty ... but its alive ...

i would have left it there.. fixed the water.. and been done with it ...

but that is water under the bridge.. lol.. see what i did there ...

just try not to love them to death ... and let them do there own thing.. no matter how ugly they get ...

NEVER fert a stressed plant.. so forget that.. before you think of it ... food is not an issue.. getting them ESTABLISHED.. is the issue ....
