| Rhododendron maximum! I love those things - apparently, the reason they aren't really common in the nursery trade is because of the smaller blooms, later bloom time (after peak sales), and reluctance of cuttings to root. I've planted a few, and they are the most vigorous Rhododendrons I've got. |

| It's all about what can be grown readily in numbers and will go home with people after being seen sitting in a pot in an outlet. Ease of production, conformity to popular taste, tendency to show well in a pot (or other common means of display) - they all have to be there or an item does not remain on the market. |
