There is a deciduous shrub here in Ohio that currently has red berries. I'm seeing it often in hedge rows and borders. Is it lindera?

RE: Lindera question

It may be Amur honeysuckle, an exotic invasive.

The berries don't seem as numerous, but I haven't seen them close up. Will try to post photo.
RE: Lindera question

Amur honeysuckle fruit doesn't ripen until late, late summer. The honeysuckle bush that bears berries early in the summer is Tartarian honeysuckle, also widely naturalized in E. N. America in the cooler states (VA, KY, IL and northward)

Lindera doesn't ripen until early fall; early September around here.
