| Is this plant worth adding to the landscape?
Description and pics have me interested...colorful spring foilage, late season bloom, bronzy fall color. |

| Colorful and compact. After that, depends on if you like the style of colored foliage it has. Some might think it looks as though virused or damaged by herbicide. |

| but does it sucker like its sister? I read up on it on few sites and only one says "considerations- spreads" and "some maintenance required after a few years" The species really suckers two years after I removed it to the distant hillside there are suckers coming up in the original spot. If "some" maintenance is like sp. sorbaria then I'd think a few times about its placement. But what a lovely plant in all respects. |

| I remember seeing it at Home Depot a few years ago and was really attracted to it. But the massively rootbound pot made me go do some research first. I got scared away and passed on it. |

| I have been growing it for about 2 years now and LOVE it. I have had no spreading, no sucker, no nuttin'. Great fall color. I may eat my words in couple of years but so far, so fabulous. Compact w/ healthy, beautiful foliage. |

| Or non-'Sems' took ~4 years to sucker. One I pulled, the other is just marking time making a million suckers until we can agree on something else for the spot. No way I plant that genus. Dan |

| I ended up using the credit for some perrenials, the one spot I had (for a shrub) may have not looked good with a charteuse color. |
