How far apart do I plant boxwoods?

I just purchased 25 boxwoods in gallon pots and am preparing soil in order to plant them. I realized after the fact, that I am not sure what kind of soil they like (what should I be sure to add to the soil) and how far apart they should be planted. I would eventually like them to create a hedge ( I know this will take some time). They are not the minature variety. Any advice would be helpful!

Did they come with a tag stating how big they'd get, or at least the name of the species and cultivar? Read the info on the link below.

Without knowing the cultivar, its hard to determine the spacing. But, I think the general rule of thumb is this: if the plant gets 4 feet wide, plant them 2 feet apart. This will create a dense hedge. I'd always figure half the mature "stated" width.

Of course, knowing the cultivar is the first step.
