V. 'Winterthur' is a small lovely viburnum with shiny leaves, good mahogany fall color and handsome berries starting out cream then changing to rose then black, all on the plant at the same time. Go for it.

Well, I've planted all but one of the viburnums!

I've decided to buy a 2nd Viburnum sargentii 'Onandaga' so the three sunny (featured) spots will have the two 'Onandaga's and the related V. sargentii 'Chiquita'.
(As pretty as V. 'Winterthur' is, I just can't resist the gorgeous foliage on the V. sargentii's.)

The large (10 gallon container) V. nudum 'Winterthur' anchors the far left corner in part shade and its companion to the left is a small V. nudun 'Bulk' (Brandywine); hopefully the Brandywine will grow quickly.

In both cases, I deliberately paired the same species/different cultivars together to maximize berry production. (Thanks to the great info by Viburnum Valley that educated me on this subject.)

V. x judii is planted to the left of Brandywine. Then comes a large variegated Weigela and the three V. sargentii's are planted to the left of the Weigela.

V. carlesii 'Diana' is in a spot by itself in the partial shelter of a young dogwood. V. x burkwoodii 'Mohawk' is yet to be planted because with the last minute addition of a second 'Onandaga', I don't have room for this last one!
