Viburnum tinus

I have three 7 year old virbunum tinus. The lower leaves have started gradually turning a light brown and falling. It is now spreading up the plant. It seems to start from the center margin and spread outward on the leaf. All shrubs around them are healthy. The plants were slightly pruned this spring and have healthy new growth. I have not found anything so far on the web.

Might need to get help from your local Cooperative Extension Service office with diagnosis. Might be something like honey fungus that attacks the roots.
