dart's gold ninebark

Hi, I have a dart's gold ninebark, second year in my garden, and the edges of leaves are turning dark brown and getting crispy. Some of them even looked bleached out. The leaves on the lower plant and closer to the trunk are just fine and are green. The same thing happened last year. It has been dry here but I have been watering. I have been searching around and have seen where it can handle full sun to part shade. Mine is probably getting more full sun. So I am wondering, should I consider moving it to more part shade? Does anyone have this in their garden with this condition?
Thanks for the help,

| I don't have Dart's Gold (unfortunately one of the few zone 4 gold-foliaged shrubs I don't but it's on my list!) but I've heard of that happening, though I've read that extra watering should help, like you probably did. The same thing happens with my Sutherland's Gold sambucus which is in full sun. I have another one that gets more shade, and it's much greener which might happen to yours if you move it. But like I said I don't know that one (I do have coppertina, summer wine and diablo ninebarks and I'm so pleased with them!) You could try MORE water? maybe some one else will answer. |
