Can't really help you. I would suspect it should be OK.

I know that hollies bloom times must coincide. Some can be really off by weeks and then it won't work. You'll just have to observe them.

Another thing I've noticed is that if the female gets more sun, the male gets more shade, even that will throw bloom times off a bit too.

All that said, I have an Ilex 'Blue Baron' that has a really nice green winter color. And the bloom time is very long. It has been a great stud holly for my female Blues. It even blooms periodically over the summer.
