The other two kinds of plants look fine, if it were mine the unhappy type would just be jerked out. This kind of damage you are unlikely to be able to recover the specimen anyway - especially if it is infested with water molds.

They look like some kind of holly to me. Perhaps 'Soft Touch' or other Ilex crenata variety, but hard to tell without a real close-up of leaf.

These can be tricky to get established if they are new plantings. They certainly like very well-drained soil and don't tolerate mucky soil. Have you been getting a lot of rain??

Could be 'black root rot', favored by high soil moisture and low soil temperatures. Or perhaps they were weakened from underwatering the year before? Hard to tell.

Dig one up and look at the roots. Check out the hole it was planted in for drainage. Maybe the shrub sits in water during the winter. Maybe the automatic sprinkler system is giving them too much water.
