| I wss recently given a decent sized Dogwood bush and was wondering what to expect from it in terms rewards and potential problems and other gardener comments. Always wanted a dogwood but do not currently have room for the tree so thought this dogwood would be a good compromise. The area I had in mind for it would have sun from about noon to sunset. Also, would it be okay to transplant it now or wait (...until it rains?, ...the Fall?) --the weather has been mostly hot, dry, and sunny. Thanks in advance. |

| If it would live the rest of the summer in a container, it would live the rest of the summer in the ground. Redtwig dogwoods like about a half a day of sun. They like moist soil, NOT soaked soil. Plant it and mulch it, make sure that it is not soaked, but moist - meaning check the soil for moisture before drowning it. Do this by pulling some mulch back and if it is moist, leave it alone. If dry, soak it and check it again in a few days. hortster |
