When to plant a lilac bush

Can I plant a lilac bush now in Denver, or is it too late?
I want a regular-size lilac bush (not a miniature like Miss Kim.)

Also, what about a shrub rose like Morden Blush?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Do you already have the plant? If you do already have it, how are you planning to keep it watered until you plant it and once you do plant it? Is it B&B, potted, or what? If potted, do you know if it's potbound?

In general, now is about the worst time of year to be planting most trees and shrubs. However, whether it's a good idea to go ahead and do it now depends on the answers to the questions above (and maybe others). More info can be found in the link below.

many a 'good' nursery.. will let you tag a plant .. for pickup at fall planting time.. with a deposit ... let them mess with it for july/august ...

yes.. you can do it now ... but only someone with vast experience.. can give it the proper followup thru the absolute worst time of year for planting.. july/august ...

sensation is a cool one.. though not one of the fastest to size.. in my garden.. see link

the most unique will require mail order.. and mailing in july/august.. is even worse than planting ... so order for fall shipping ...

i like these peeps though i never ordered a lilac from them:
