Well, it sounds like it didn't get enough water. It probably will come back, but be sure to keep it really well watered for the rest of the season. When you water, be sure that the actual root ball from the pot is wet, often the soil around it can be soaked but the root ball stays dry due to the difference in matrix potential between the two different soil types.

You are right. I did water it every day but with the heat for a prolonged period maybe the root ball was dry despite surface watering. I will leave it where it is, water it and hope for the best. Thanks

Provide temporary shade, too.

I planted 5 large Hibiscus that I dug up and replanted almost two months ago. They are mostly in full sun areas. I covered them with burlap (Wal-Mart, Menards), and watered them every other day unless it just rained. In between lots of sunny 90-100 degree days.

They're still doing pretty well, though there are definitely some crispy leaves and brown stem tips. They do like water, though, and probably wouldn't mind getting water every day.
