| I have six Cotoneaster horizontalis shrubs inherited from the previous owners of my home. All of them seem to suffer invasion of gray lichen, in various stages. Two shrubs are almost gone.
Unfortunately, I cannot put a picture here for some reason. What is the way to get rid of lichen, please? Thank you. |

| You need to look into the reason for the decline of the cotoneaster. The lichen is flourishing BECAUSE the shrubs are thinning out, but are not the cause of the problem. Lichen cannot grow happily on lush, dense trees and shrubs. If those plants start to thin out, lichen takes advantage of increased sunlight penetration and air flow. |

| you need a photo hosting site like photobucket to post pix ... did i already mention you should get rid of the prior owners problems.. rather than fight for them???? i mean.. if there were bugs in the new house.. would you try to save them, in the name of the history of the house??? ... if not.. then why try to save garden problems .... take the initiative.. create your own new nightmares in the garden.. lol ... ken |
