New Zealand Tea

Does anybody know how to propagate a New Zealand Tea? Can it be done from a branch (as a cutting) or would you have to air layer it like a tree? Or is there perhaps another way?

This plant is one of the reasons I miss CA - common, maybe trite in the Bay Area but lovely fls. All my texts say the same thing: good percentage rooting. Half-mature wood in August (mid-summer), almost mature wood in October (mid-autumn). I never did it with mine, but I don't see why you can't ground layer, which would make it a lot easier for you.

I hadn't thought of ground layering but (having just looked at it) the branches start a good 8 inches from the ground (because I pruned it in the spring)and are not long enough to lie prone on the ground. I think I'll try the cuttings since the success rate seems to be high and if that doesn't work the branches should be long enough to ground layer a couple over the winter and then I'd have new ones in the spring. Thanks a lot for the info and the link, much appreciated.
