| A number of years ago I lost 3 relatively mature Viburnum ‘Winterthur’ to what I assumed at the time was vole damage. Now I am not so certain that was the case. In a different location I have planted a couple Viburnum ‘Winterthur’ and V. ‘Brandywine’. I have planted these over the course of the last four years and have noted in the past some branch die back on the oldest Viburum. We have had a very wet cool spring and summer here in New England and up until last week these Viburnum nudum’s appeared to be happy and setting some nice fruit. The soil is sandy with a ph of 4.4. I am guessing I have some type of fungal disease how do I determine what it is and how I should treat it? Could this be Sudden Oak Death or verticillium wilt? kt
Viburnum ‘Winterthur’ planted last fall.
Viburnum ‘Brandywine’ planted two years ago.
The different patterns of leaf die back.
