Dwarf nandina Euonymus fortunei Viburnum carlesii or similar, maybe one of its hybrids
|
OK, the second one look very much like the seedlings I have in my yard. I was just about to ask for help to identify it. I googled "Euonymus fortunei" and I am not sure this is it. By reading about Euonymus fortunei, I realized I may have them in my yard too. They are mostly low growing and some of them climbed up on a tree. This one I have is different. I got a broken off branch from a dense hedge planted next to mall parking lot. The mother plant was at least 6 feet tall. I was looking at hundreds of "English Laurel" picture online yesterday and some of them look just like the second pic and my seedlings too. So confusing.

I had Euonymus as foundation shrubs when I bought this property. Had them rippped out. They are murder to keep trimmed. They need next to nothing to grow and are relatively evergreen. But they had to go.

Not Euonymus fortunei. More likely Euonymus kiautschovicus 'Manhattan' - I think that's the right spelling. It's always good form to show the whole plant in addition to the closeups. Many people can ID the plant without the micro-view.
