Hy,
does somebody have experience with this cultivar?
Is it suitable for hedges?

According to the internet it won't get higher than 125cm.

Greetings

benjamin, you are referring to 'Dream Catcher' which is the name most people know this shrub by. If you look at the link below and see where it says 'Patent Information' it refers to the plant as 'Maradco'. I think you would get more response if you used the name 'Dream Catcher'

I just bought this as a tiny shrub and have not placed it in the garden yet. All I can tell you, is that if I were looking for a hedge plant this would not be high on my list.

Maybe you want to start a new thread and give a little more information about what you are trying to do.

Here is a link that might be useful: Kolkwitzia 'Dream Catcher'

Note at the link provided that the cultivar is in fact 'Maradco', with Dream Catcher being instead a trademarked name used to sell the 'Maradco' cultivar. 'Dream Catcher', in quotes is entirely incorrect.

It is also true that not being familiar with the 'Maradco' cultivar name that I was suspected being used for this same plant I did not comment myself. Outlets here have had this one for a few seasons. I get the impression looking at the garden center sized specimens that it will make a somewhat smaller bush than the typical green-leaved plant, but have not grown one or seen another that had many years behind it. As the species grows huge here I expect the yellow-leaved form will make a pretty substantial specimen also, even if significantly reduced in size by the yellow leaves.

To cover all bases use both the selling names (like Dream Catcher) and cultivar names (such as 'Maradco') when posting about plants that have been tagged with both.
