Shrub suggestion

I was looking for a Ribes odoratum which tend to be a bit columnar, a little more narrow than tall. I have not been able to find one here in NY and can't seem to find a nursery that can get one.

So, I'm looking for a substitute, max 4-6' tall, 3' wide. Down to zone 5. I've used multiple plant finders and suggestion websites and I'm tired of seeing barberry, lilac, weigela, spirea, etc.

If it gets a bit wider but is ok with pruning that's fine. Would like native US. Also not a horrible sucker-spreading plant.

Sun until late afternoon and then heading into mostly shade.

Any suggestions would be great! Thanks.

Like other species in the genus clove currant tends to be seen with a leaning vase shape. 6' x 3' I wouldn't expect. If you have any interest in serviceberries selections are on the market that are supposed to be comparatively short and erect.

Amelanchier alnifolia 'Regent' seems good, size-wise.
