| I'm not sure if this is right place to post this message but I have three speading boxwoods I want to relocate. To me they look like small shrubs. How well do the transplant? Is this an ok time of the year to them dig up and transplant them. Should I wait until fall or spring?
Will peat most and or bone meal help? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks |

| Matthew, I'm not sure what you mean by 'spreading' boxwoods? I would not be an expert to answer your question, but my guess would be that it is a little early to move it. I thought it was always recommended to try to move when a shrub is dormant. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. That is in general, boxwood specifically, I don't know if fall or spring is better. Hopefully someone else will answer you. :-) |

| thanks...i think early spring is my safest bet at this point. I'm in no rush to do this. The tag is still on this shrub from Lowes and its labeled spreading boxwood. I also have an "Emerald N gold Euonymus" plant that I want to relocate on my property. I think I'll wait for spring on both of these. |

| Spring is usually the safest bet. If it were a flowering shrub that you would want to give it a head start at establishing itself this fall, I would probably move it in the fall. Since you are not in a hurry and it won't produce flowers, spring might be the best choice. I don't have a Euonymus but I have heard they are pretty tolerant of everything. I could only find one reference to 'spreading boxwood' See below. Good luck! :-) |

| And, no, do not add anything to the planting hole or backfill. Just use the native soil. |
