Green Gem or Green Velvet

I am placing an order for Boxwoods, A Fastigiata, and 10 small liners of either Green Gem or Green Velvet, I like the smaller Gem, but wanted some advice on planting here in the 100+ degree and freezing weather. Do you think one does better in harsh temps than the other? I am not making a hedge, they will just be placed in many different areas of the garden beds for some winter green.

RE: Green Gem or Green Velvet

We have had two summers of 100° + temps. One over 50 days, the next over 30 days. My Green Velvet has tolerated both and looks good this year, even exposed to winter sun. It is untrimmed, as you can see. Gets my vote.
