Pictured here is one of my all time favorite shrubs. Only one problelm with it, I can't dig it. It has such shallow roots and spreads or peregrinates (hint) through the soil to form a colony. In nature it tolerates xeric, nutrient poor soils such as pine & serpentine barrens. It gets about waist high and the deciduous leaves have a pinnatifid margin. As you walk through the plants on a hot summer day you get a combination of herbal and pine scent. Because of its spreading nature it is great for a beach house or naturalistic landscaping in sun or part shade. I can't dig it, can you name it?
