judd viburnum transplant issue

I planted a Judd Viburnum last fall in 2009 in my yard (bought from a landscaper) which was about 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide. I live in the state of Illinois & have clay soil. The viburnum is planted in a sunny location. During planting, I added some garden soil in the original soil dig from the hole. Since May of this year, I feeded it with one table spoon of Miracle Gro in one gallon of water. I did it about 2 times after one month interval. Last year when I planted it had bunch of leaves .This year only 2 leaves came out & died after couple days. Since summer, I have been watering it 2 times in a week, remained moist most of the time. Last month when I scratched one or two of the branches with my nail, they were green. Yesterday I checked again and now most of the braches are brown. Do you think it will come back next spring or the shrub is dead. Thanks.
