frankly ..... the growth rate is genetic.. and seasonal.. and no ferts are going to change either of these ...

I'm with the last poster....I would just remove the shrubs and plant something new...then I would plant grass where those shrubs were overgrowing the lawn.

This is why I refer to landscapers as landscrapers or landrapers. Slap a magnetic sign on a truck, and suddenly they're experts. Good lord, did they not see what they were doing? I agree that the shrubs should be removed, but if I were you, I wouldn't pay them for that butchering they did.

Not all landscapers are this bad, but in my experience, most are just awful.
