A good substitute for Otto Lyukens

I love the look of the Ottos but I was just laid off and they seem to be very expensive around here. The Grower's Outlet manager said that Georgia is too hot for them. To give you an idea, one side of the landscaped area has the "Snow White" Indian Hawthorn, so I don't know if I want to go for color on the other side or not? I have about 13 Indian Hawthorn planted and am trying to fill the other side with about 10-12 plants. Suggestions are welcome. The area DOES get a ton of son during the day, so something that can withstand the sun is appreciated.

Thanks

Emily
