| Turning to my trusty Tree Identification Book by George W.D. Symonds the pages fell open to two identical leaves that I had pressed in it sometime in my travels. Ken almost got the answer, Morus alba (White mulberry). According to Symonds, White Mulberry leaf is smooth and shiny without the deep lines of Red Mulberry. It can be found in three leaf shapes such as the one pictured, also more lobed and also looking much like the Red Mulberry leaf with more pronounced teeth. |
