| I was wondering if anyone could give me some info about Blue Shadow Fothergilla - specifically I was wondering if the color is more like the glaucous bloom of blue Hostas - so it would kinda lose coloring if it got more sun - or is it more like an intrinsic blue-green of a Dianthus? Mobot says part-shade will give better blue color...I am just wondering because the location I would like to put it in gets morning shade and afternoon sun, and I don't know if that would be too much to kill the color.
Also, what kind of growth rate does it have? I'm wondering if I should go for a one-gallon pot or look for bigger. I don't really care if it grows fast height-wise, but I am hoping it would be relatively full-looking. If that makes any sense. Any opinions would be appreciated; from my research it seems like a well-thought of shrub in general, but I can't find many pictures of it in real people's gardens. Thanks in advance! |
