Please help me save my Thuja occidentalis Smaragds

Please help me save my Thuja Occidentalis Smaragd -

I have 9 of them in a one raw. Over the very hot summer (New York) they lost their vibrant color, became more and more yellowish/dry. One of them dried out completely.

We were away for several weeks so I guess that the sun made it's damage. I have been watering them now every day for the last 7 days but it doesn't help.

I wonder how to recognize if they are being eaten by some insects?

Does it mean that I lost my beautiful shrubs?

Any advise what to do??
