'Neon Flash' Spirea Shrub

I have a large spirea shrub that is in wonderful condition. Can it be divided like you would divide a perennial? If so can I do it in the fall? If this can be done with this shrub do I just divide like it is a perennial? I want to make a 'Neon Flash' hedge . Thanks

but you could probably root cuttings..

or drag down some branches.. scar them ... and put a rock/brick on them.. with some rooting compound... and they will probably have rooted by spring ....

it is NOT a perennial.. it can not be divided ...

but that is not to say.. you might not find two plants down in there.. but you will have nearly killed the plant.. by the time you find out...
