| I am interested in planting a Viburnum nudum 'Winterthur', but understand that it needs cross-pollination to produce a good crop of fall berries. I already have a Viburnum plicatum 'Newport' - could this cross-pollinate the Winterthur? I understand that the Newport has sterile flowers, but could it still cross-pollinate?
Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Ray. |

| Thanks Lacyvail for your advice. I have planted the 'Winterthur' anyway, as it seems a lovely plant. But I will think of buying another V. nudum next spring, for pollination. |

| Ray, V. nudum 'Winterthur' is a beautiful shrub--glossy foliage that turns a lovely mahogany in fall, and those handsome berries. In my experience, it's much smaller than many viburnums; mine, in for 6 years, are still under 6 feet. They could be pruned up a little to look like little trees. |
