lily of the valley pieris in bloom

Stop right there. I know exactly what you are thinking. Pieris sets bud in the fall but these don't actually open until spring. I know that.

My pieris started new buds way back in April, on new growth, before even finishing flowering on the prior years set, I looked and couldn't find any body that mentioned buds starting this early. A few days ago these buds have been turning from green to pink. Now I believe that this may actually be a legitimate 2nd flowering. Most other pieris in the neighborhood are not anywhere near in terms of the length of buds. I'm in zone 9b so if a 2nd season were to occur just like a standard non - encore azalea, it would happen in the higher zones.

Wanted to share, does anyone have a pieris that bloomed twice?
