| Most likely not caterpillars at all. Much more likely to be viburnum leaf beetles. We don't yet have them here. But you should be able to obtain info about them easily. | Here's another Cornell fact sheet regarding the Viburnum beetle. The eggs for next season's batch of beetles (and their larvae) are easily seen along the stems of the newest growth of your plant. Pruning your plant this winter will go a long way in curtailing the population. |
