Thanks.

Forest Farm dot com sells tubers for 9.95 now online.
I have ordered from them in the past, 2 trees, and I was pleased with them, I still have them.
If you live where it's cold, put in a pot and keep in garage if it doesn't freeze.
Crape myrtles grow really fast.
This variety is hard to find.

Thanks butterfly4u.
I live in Southern California. There are many Crape Myrtle trees by the streets. So they should not have problems in the winter.
What kinds of Crape Myrtles are the 2 trees that you ordered?
Did both survive?

Backyardhobbiest,
Oh, you have nice winters like me.
Go ahead and get a tuber then, it will also grow fast for you next summer.
We have them everywhere here, they are soooo common.
I bought one with an Indian name, can't remember what it was. It was real small, but I planted it and OMG, it grew sooo fast. That was 2008.
Now it is bigger than my house.
It is pink with a white peeling bark and turns the most gorgeous red color in fall.
It is probably 15 feet tall now. I'm not kidding. I planted it in composted manure and put some bloodmeal down every fall around it. Mulch, of course.
My soil is horrible. It was a new build and they scraped the soil and it has been alot of work to get the soil good enough for grass and plants.
But my crape myrtle is nice and tall in the front yard, right in front of house.

That is pic when not in bloom.
It has grown since then, even bigger.
